Who are we?

Sharing life And Growing in faith together

We have grown significantly in number over the last nine years, with a lively mix of adults and children. Some of the BVC congregation would not call themselves Christian at present, but still come along on Sundays to belong to our community and find out more about Jesus. For this reason, we aim to make our meetings as accessible to everyone, regardless of age, background and any previous experience of ‘church’.

Our main church service is at 10:30am every Sunday morning in Buckshaw Community Centre and all are welcome. We also help to run a monthly Messy Church for families wanting to explore the Bible together in a fun and messy way. In addition, we partner with local churches to lead a short, weekly service in Buckshaw Retirement Village.

We have a range of ministries geared specifically towards children and young people.  Two weekly toddler groups cater to the very youngest and their families.  Children have an exciting Sunday programme, midweek school groups, and one-off events such as our annual Holiday Club.  We also host groups, events and activities for Buckshaw’s youth across the village.

No matter what stage of our faith journey we’re on, there's always room to grow. We have the all important Growth Groups, to study the Bible and enjoy friendship; Quads for those who need more flexibility; all alongside growing mens & women ministries.

As Buckshaw Village Church, we believe we have been called to serve, support and partner with the people of Buckshaw.  With the encouragement of the NHS we run All Of Us, a mental health and well-being support group. We partner with other volunteer groups and businesses to put on community events across the year. Alongside these is our regular Christians Against Poverty group aiming to help those who require financial/debt management support.
