Harvest Bitesize

Join us this coming Sunday for our Harvest Bitesize service.   Harvest time is typically when we give thanks for the food that comes from the land around us.

In Genesis it tells us "God created us in his own image".  He also created  this most wonderful and diverse planet for us to live on and take care of.

We'll also take some time this Sunday, exploring ways as Church, that we can invest in our planet and take better care of it .

Don't forget we'll  be having our annual Food Bank collection.  So - get raiding those cupboards and supermarket shelves and bring plenty of canned goods and non-perishable items. Fill the car boot and bring 'em along to church this week.  We'll take care of the rest!

Youth Group meets this Sunday evening - full details above

Date for your diary...

Ever struggled for something to do on a Sunday afternoon?  Once a month we host Messy Church on Buckshaw Village.  It's an excellent place to bring all the family for crafts, snacks but most importantly to connect with Jesus. A super-relaxed and informal get-together, perfect for everyone but especially for those new to church.
If you've not been before why not join  us at our next Messy Church on Sunday 20th October, 2pm - 4pm at Trinity School, Unity Place, Buckshaw Village.
Lynn McCann is doing some exciting and amazing work alongside Blackburn Diocese and will be co-hosting two training courses over the next few months. These courses look at supporting autistic people in church and also Makaton training  that covers faith signs, songs and activities for Christian churches and groups.

If you'd be interested in finding out more or know someone who would benefit from these courses, then check out the following:
  • The first is an evening service at St Stephen’s Church in Preston 6-7.30pm on Sunday October 13th.  It is called ‘Belonging- supporting autistic people in your church' - the tickets are free but will go fast so click here to book your space
  • The second is a faith based Makaton training day on 9th November 2019 at Clayton House, Blackburn and will cost £32 per person. Lynn has a Christian Makaton trainer coming up from Sheffield to run this training. Tickets available via this link

A whole church knowing what Makaton is and having basic signs they can use would be awesome! Imagine this at BVChurch!!!!

Walk of Remembrance (10.11.19)

On 10.11.19 at 9.45am - we will gather just near the Green Man at top end of Buckshaw Village.  There will be a few words shared and then we will begin a Silent Walk of Remembrance.  We’ll walk down Central Avenue and on to Buckshaw Village Church for morning service at 10.30am.

Please do feel free to invite friends and family to join us in this act of remembrance.
